Some Good News About Kate

Collage of a family selfie + part of a logo I designed for Kate’s crafts.

I'm husband to Kate Shields Stenzinger and she's had quite a set of experiences these past 7 months battling breast cancer. She's been journaling since August last year on her CaringBridge site sharing photos and thoughts of her experience.

The first bit of good news: this week Kate completed her course of 16 treatments of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is rough. She worked super hard to get to this point. So glad and thankful that she's completed this milestone.

Then the even better news is she has very good looking scans both MRI and CT indicating there is no apparent cancer detectable. It responded well to the chemotherapy!

This week I feel so much less worry burden than last week and the 24 weeks prior. It's almost confusing to feel this combination of relief and hope. This is a good week and I'm really trying to re-feel what this kind of good feels like. Certainly a positive thing to adjust to, still an adjustment.
