About Rob

Rob Stenzinger is currently working on Word Turtle Island, an action + cozy game where you battle with words as weapons and recover after by tending bookshelves.

Rob has had the privilege of designing, making, and teaching in several interesting companies and communities. His current main gig is being a solo indie game creator while teaching creativity and UX design as a side gig. Rob’s career is a stack of main gigs and side gigs stretching back to when he started making games while working as a janitor. A remarkable twist, that same company he cleaned floors for he later led design for their internet of things platform. Word Turtle Island is where Rob is applying ideas he's learned with human centered design, game design, and inclusive well-rounded whole-hearted product development. Previous games include Guitar Fretter and This Panda Needs You. Known for finding humor in day-to-day situations and joking during commercials, maybe that's his ultimate ongoing gig.

Through writing and teaching Rob hopes to inspire creators of all kinds to make what matters to them.

About Rob Stenzinger Games

Rob Stenzinger Games is currently a solo indie game creation endeavor. Rob hopes to grow a community of players enjoying the action, story, and cozy aspects of playing games that mix genres and inspirations. And hopes to inspire others seeking to create games by sharing what goes into creating the art, story, code, and design of flexibly fun experiences. Starting new collaborations is also a goal for Rob Stenzinger Games.

Rob's inspiration is fueled by generations of games and creators of all sizes. Especially favorites ranging from 2D action (Golden Axe, Heroes of Loot, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Vampire Survivors, Castle Crashers, Robotron 2084, Devil's Crush), classic fighting games (Street Fighter II, Samurai Shodown, Guilty Gear), and puzzle games (Peggle, Angry Birds, Tetris). From those inspirations finding his own voice making unique games that feel familiar like Word Turtle Island, Guitar Fretter, This Panda Needs You, and Underwater Tomato Ninja.
