Journaling About Creativity, Design, and Collaboration: 1. Act Without Thinking

I’m doing this journaling in a Mario themed unlined note book. Fancy tempting cool looking journals are not where I typically write but I had a theme in mind for this one. Makes it easier to pick up now it has a job to do.

Here begins a series of posts, in each I share one page and transcription of a handwritten journal entry. The first page sets an intention for the whole journal.

First note, giving a specific purpose to this notebook.

About the first note.

This is my prompt. It opens a group of reminders that interconnect and open paths to question and explore to ask myself and journal as response. I'm writing to capture feelings and instincts I've practiced making all kinds of things ranging from illustrations to stories, comics, games, software, podcasts, workshops and so on. All along the way I wonder how the creative process works for me, for others, and for us together.

With that in mind I present the first journal entry.

Act Without Thinking:

Planned Elements to Asociate.

Transform words to image,

image to words,

moment to timeline,

timeline to moment.

Build with a theme.

Counter a theme.

Try to help others understand.

Work to be inscrutible.

Surprise yourself.

Plan ahead but with unedited abandon.

Get immersed in confusion.
