Two Pizza Team - Game Art Development - Backgrounds
Two PIzza Team is a story and game concept I've been thinking about for a while. I shared on a Polytechnicast episode the Two Pizza Team hypothesis, publishing to multiple media would be a worthwhile project in a few ways.
The initial idea for the game was to make a side scrolling beat-em-up but as I thought about the story around those actions, choices, and scenarios I had concerns. Why would people go outside to beat up their neighbors? That's not a fantasy that makes a lot of sense to me. So then I thought about reasons to help neighbors and defend them from creatures doing mean stuff. Like a side scrolling mix of Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Animal Crossing.
I plan on building the game at some point, have some projects ahead of it. Also working on some of the how to take that project on differently than other games I've worked on. For example, I'm condidering if this would be a good crowd funding project.
That's many months in the future. For now I'm working to get the full paid version of Guitar Fretter updated plus get the first free version ready to release.
If you missed it, I published the minicomic I made with the Two Pizza Team. That short story is a part of developing the concept, testing ideas about the characters and seeing how folks connect.
Here I'm sharing a snapshot of the background art I made to explore the game concept. I'll do another post soon to share character development concepts.
